My son's school incubated almost three dozen eggs , well two dozen ended up not being fertile at all , and out of the last dozen , one has hatched and we still have six in the incubator. My problem is with the one that already hatched , it is very lonely and very VOCAL ! I have other chicks , that are a week old , and when I put the new little one in , they pecked at it , I took it out because I was afraid that they would hurt it . What should I do with this lonely hatchling ???

I'm in the same boat...
Had 17 eggs in the bator; 1 hatched without problem on wednesday; assisted 1 out yesterday--it died; have 1 pipping now; threw out 6 that weren't fertile. I have 4 hens setting now, and one that is suppose to hatch out today, so I thought I'd put the loner in with her babies, but nothing has hatched yet. The constant chirping is sooooo pitiful

Its quiet if I stay in there and hold it, but I can't do that all day.
I suggest you go buy another day old chick so it will have some company.
I've heard of "lone" chicks dying.
Good luck.
