What happens if you leave the eggs in the egg turner?
Will they still hatch???

Yes but they if it is small turner that fit in the hova style then sometimes they can get wedged between the turning trays. It would be best to put them in an egg carton to hatch. Cut off top of carton. When hatch is finished clean up is easy just throw away carton. Most of the goo(afterhatch or afterbirth )will stay in bottom of egg.

They can, but the two biggest problems I see are:

1) Chick does not get footing easily at first and you end up with leg problems.

2) If the turner is on, you end up with stuck mushed... maybe dead chicks.

Yes. I hate to even admit I know this for a fact.

Long story kind of short - last year my 10 year old niece was hatching eggs for a 4-H project and gave me 16 eggs. First time hatcher - I thought I was doing so good just keeping temp where it needed to be. I did know to stop turning at day 18 but didn't have a clue about the humidity, taking the turner out, etc. End result 7 out of 16 hatched just fine in the turner and all. When I broke the other eggs open there was nothing but yolk (I'm lucky they didn't explode - didn't know about candeling then either).

Thanks to this wonderful site I now know what I'm suppose to do. I've got 38 eggs in the bator due to hatch on April 25. I've candled on day 7 and will again tomorrow at day 14. Humidity is where it needs to be and on day 18 I will take the turner out
