Oh wow... she's a little more silver than mine were... very pretty! Does she have much of a crest? how about the feathering on the feet? It's hard to tell from the photos...

She has some what of a chest. i would have to see when she fluffs more and she has fluff all the way to her toes
I tell you what Mark, the three I have are the spunkiest little things, and are shaping up to be real sweeties. Wow... I am so proud. I have Grandbabies in a state I've never set foot in.
How cute she is! My 16 year old is taking an animal science/horticulture class at school and I went to see him today. They have the reserve champion FFA chicken there and its a black silkie. I knew I wanted silkies but had never picked one up. OMG - now I know why Christy's son wants to sleep with one.
I tried stealing it but they busted me. This bird was so mellow and squishy - I could have easily put it in my jacket and left and they would have never heard a peep!
MUST HAVE A SILKIE!
On a sadder note - my only mille fleur leghorn passed away this afternoon. His umbilical area healed with a little dry lump so I knew his chances were lessened. The last time I had a bird with that, it lived about 5 days also.
First the good news.. Tori's other silkie is almost and so is charlies buff silkie
the bad news.. tori your silkie in the wax egg just hatch but it looks like she still has some yolk sec left and her 4head is BIG i never had silkies so i don't no if there 4head is suppose to look like that? but i left her alone..maybe she will finish up her yolk or it will dry and break off in the bator... she's yelling though thats how i new something hatch.. i was taking a nap an her LOUD chirping woke me up so i'm hoping she pulls through
