Oh, I still do need the La Fleche so badly. It is gonna be a little long, sorry.
My husband is active duty Air Force. He doesn't get to live with us because of that. He likes the chickens....loves the chickesn really, but isn't quite so "into" them as I am.
Until he saw La Fleche. He wants some soooooooo bad. I have bought two shipments of eggs and got his heart set on getting some and neither batch had one single viable chick.
He works so hard to take care of me and the kids and I hate to disappoint him. He asks for so little for himself, when there is something he wants I do everything I can to get it for him.
i'm so sorry that happen..to this day people are not sure why chicks make it to hatch day then die there are so many reasons to it... aw i wish i could give you some of my chickies when they hatch

I understand the whole military thing - my hubby works full time for the National Guard and isn't gone as much as yours but is gone on and off. You do what you can to make them happy
Ah, my dh is in the natn'l guard, was active army for 13 years. The reason I ask is cuz I have some in my bator. I have an older gentleman that lives about 30 min from me. I am asking him to get me some bc marans from a friend of his. If he can, I will see if he will sell me another dozen of the La Fleche. I won't know for a week, and not sure how they will do during shipping. They are great quality, actually if you go to feathersite his roo is the first pic. He use to do poultry shows but isn't as active anymore. Right now I have 9 that are doing well, 2 that had started quit and 1 was too old (bubbles). When I got them he didn't even have them all in the carton right, some small end up(not sure if they are the quitters), so I can't promise much. I will call him sometime this week and see if he can do it if you want me to(would probably be around $25-30 with shipping). I don't know how they will do being shipped from Maine though. Do you want me to check into it? The other option would be to wait until spring when mine start to lay, that way they would be more fresh. Let me know
