Here we are gonna be at the bators tonight heads bobing back and forth mouths open falling asleep..soon we here the slightest sound like a peep we jump up with the flash light only to get disappointed
The absolute worst is when you are sitting there and you doze off, head is hanging down backward, and one of the kids gets up to go pee and thinks you are dead. They tend to freak out!!!!
I think they are kinda getting used to it at this point though!!!

Could that be what happened to my eggs? They were in a turner and then I layed them on their sides to hatch? Man I will hate myself if that is what happened
I'm on day 18 also, with 6 Splash Silkie eggs in the hatcher and 2 more under my poor Sumi (My Sumatra hen who's been broody for 4 weeks now- all of her eggs were rotten, so I put 2 of these silkie eggs under her a few days ago so she can have a few babes of her own.) I keep checking them to see if I have any early pips... Hope I wake up to some!

PBJmaker, Nooooo....I don't think that is at all what caused the problems with yours. I have done that a few times and had no problems. Sometimes things just happen. Are you sure they are gone? If so, are you going to open them and see if you can see anything wrong with them? I always do to try and figure out what happened.
Oh puhleeeeezzzzeeeeee.......you may as well give up Mark. My little lone Silkie will be the VERY first pip!!! Poor thing probably already knows it has an 11 y/o boy who thinks it is going to sleep in his bed!!!
That's enough to make any chicken hurry up and hatch!!!!
