Awesome!!!! I candled about a half hour ago and could see the shadowy form of a Silkie baby moving in the shell. The air cell is way bigger than I am comfortable with, but I am prepared to take drastic measures to save this brat!!!! And the eggs belonging to my mother look great, too. I guess I am going to have to keep one of hers to keep the little silkie from being lonely.
Good Luck! I had to pull my only chick that hatched yesterday from eggs that were due today and so I quickly candled the only other three I that had definate movement in them on day 18 - looks like their a no-go now
So now I have a lone maran and a lone mille fleur leghorn, maybe they can get together with luvmychicknkids lone silkie...
Lisa's eggs are wonderful and her chicks are about as cute as they get - little chunkies! Can't wait to see what colors yours are. I may actually have one that is splash. or maybe mottled. First row of wing feathers grew in white, next row is jet black.
i'm useing my new bator as a hatcher and so far it's been iffy.. in some areas
the humidity is fine it's at 65% right now it's just the temp.. since i took the turner out of it the temp is iffy.. only staying at 97.5 so i'm trying to get it at 99.5
and!
the egg carton i have the eggs in some of the water from the bottom of the bator got on it and one whole side of the carton was wet so i had to cut that off so it wouldn't be over the water so right now i'm just trying to get the temp right
