HATCH IS DONE! PLZ READ PAGE 62 =)

Nope, one day she just decided she was done sitting. I watched her most of the day and when it grew late and she wasn't sitting there-still, I grabbed a bag thinking I would clean it out and put them in the bator, but they were gone--just gone. *sigh* she's gone straight back to her old routine since then, so if she hid them, she hid them, then forgot where she put 'em! I think it was her first ever nest, so sitting nearly three weeks isn't so bad, considering. Maybe she'll do better with the nest this fall (I'm told they usually lay three sets each year). On the other hand, maybe they aren't pure bred and they all started to smell because they were sterile??

I'm thinking of building a duck house in my chicken run (my muscovies sleep in there at night when I shut in the chickens for the night because the other waterbirds grew up together and are mean to them.) So maybe if I do it right she'll lay in there instead. lol I'm not sure what to do, actually, because the chickens are kind of mean to the muscovies too, and the ducks are so sweet and quiet. I just love them! In any case, they'll need shelter this winter, so they're getting something!

And how do you ever find eggs north and west of you??

i had the most silent eggs on day 20 and on day 21, they all hatched, so dont be discouraged!

better yet - a smiley dancing in front of the bator with a sign that says "I got a PIP!"

on the other side of the sign it would say - but it's invisible unless you squint really hard and then pretend

Mine are still so silent too, and I'm officially for hours into day 20 lol I know I had some temp fluctuations, so I just keep telling myself it could be a couple of days late, even if they are bantam eggs.

I thought I had a pip earlier, but when I looked closer I realized it was just an irregularity in the shell. lol

Yesssss.......I like hearing that austinhart.
