Hatch On Dates: Oct-nov? Dont Forget About This Post!!!

last night I saw the chick moving around in the air sac so I assume it had internally pipped and tonight it still hasn't externally pipped (but is still moving, I can see it's beak rest on the side of the shell and move around)

Is this normal? I thought it would be out within a day of internal pipping? but this is my first hatch and I'm not sure of anything

i am nearly 9 hrs into day 22 and i am fixing to float test a few of the eggs to see what get.

update

well i float tested 4 of the eggs once i saw all 4 wiggling like crazy i wiped them off and placed them back in the incubator at least i know 4 are viable i am not going to touch the rest one egg look like it was having seizures lol it was so neat looking to see

you take a bowl and fil it up with 100 degree water it has to be deep water like in a big deep bowl.you take your egg and lightly place it in the water making sure not to disturb the water to much if it sinks it is a dud, if it is a high floater 45% of egg out of water fetal demise, if it is a low floater about 15% percent out of water basically just the air cell out of the water fully formed chick if the egg is wiggling and bobbing around you have a live chick and will hatch soon. but before placing the egg in the water check for any cracks that water could get in because the water can drown the chick. here is a link that tells you more and in one of the posts it has a link to a video.

well i after doing the float test an hr later i got my first pip i guess they needed to be woken up lol

Wish they had something that you can puton the egg to see if there is an heart beat lol on my 2ndhen batch of 10the eggs I only have 3to developing... was hoping for more.. shipment was very hard on a lot of the eggs....

I have some due to hatch 10/27. 7 Wheaten Marans and 11 black coppers from Cree Farm (Bev's line). Very eggciting smile I am a little worried though since my turner stopped turning a week ago and I'm not sure how long it went without turning them before I noticed. I feel like it was only a coupe of days so my fingers are crossed!
