Hatch On Dates: Oct-nov? Dont Forget About This Post!!!

Joining the crowd also. First incubation, using a Janoel octagonal fan-forced manual-turn incubator. I set a dozen eggs on the 26th, half Australorps and half Barnevelders. Tonight I was pleased to find that all the Australorps look good! It's too early to tell with the brown-speckled Barney eggs. I'm calling this day 3, as I set them in the late afternoon.

Welcome, we are doing our first incubation too, well actually second, we didn't know the first time our eggs weren't fertile, rookie mistake, lol. Pics look good! We started on the 20th, I posted a video from last night when we candled, ours are welsummer eggs which are also dark, my mother in law had an old slide projector we used because flashlights weren't bright enough and you can see it moving around in there, really cool, check it out if you get a chance!

Hello to all! We are trying our first incubation. We started with 11 eggs on September 15th...and have added a couple every day. Most will be Silver Duckwings and Blue Old English. My husband also bought 400 quail eggs that we put in the incubator on September 27th. I am anxiously awaiting day 20-21!!! I will try to get pics tonight when my husband gets home.

Glad it was so helpful, and that's a really good idea for when we start incubating more than one batch at a time, yea we wrote all the dates to hatch day on ours, I think it's cute and helpful!

LOVE that calendar! I have some set on the evening of the 25th, so we are on day 4 here. Candling tonight... some are BCM so won't candle them til the weekend... I'm awful awful awful at candling, so I only toss the totally clear ones... or a huge blood ring. :)
