Hatch On Dates: Oct-nov? Dont Forget About This Post!!!

Well I am feeling over the moon right now, one of my broodies is up off the nest and showing her 8 new babies around, and not one of them looks the same as another! They were from a mixed pen of about 6 different breed so there should be some interesting combinations amoung them. She was sitting on 11, 2 quit when they got cold I think and one poor little hatchling got squashed

but the rest are all super lively and cute!

I also had an idea just for fun - wondered if everyone involved in this hatch could write down the breeds they are hatching in one long big list just to see how many eggs there are and all the diferent breeds. Can we do it? If I start and then the next person copies my list and adds theirs to the bottom we should end up with a huge list!

Heres mine:

PS - Try to use the breeds real name instead of initials for those of use who dont know what they stand for

and i think this is a bad egg, DAY 7, but im waitingtill day 10 to see if its good or bad.

thanks everyone i just tracked them and they should be here tomorrow morning which is great that way i can go pick them up come home unpackage them and put them in an egg carton with the big end up go to the hospital to see my sister before she goes in for heart surgery come home that night and place them in the incubator. these will add to the already 24 7 week old silkies my 1 18 week old male silkie and my 1 14 week old female silkie. the 24 babies were hatched out when i had 36 egg in the incubator 27 hatched but 3 did not make it i lost one of them last night because it got into the run with my LF some how the run is 8 feet tall and the older ones pecked it badly it survived for about 12 hrs afterwards it had also got caught in the rain after it had gotten pecked on which made it harder for me to get to it before i did because of lightening. maybe if i had gotten to it sooner it would have survived but i was not getting out in the lightening not when i just got home from picking up my daughter from school because she had gotten sick and she did not need to see it or me get hurt in front of her. i will keep everyone up to date on the progress my daughter and me are so excited.

Hi, posting from Wellington New Zealand. I have put 12 eggs under my broody, a laverner Araucana. The eggs are 6 white leghorn and 6 barnvelder. They were put under her on the 22nd September so expecting a hatch date of 13th October.
