I would think that at day 15, the chick would take up most of
the egg just like that. Any movement detected?

i cant really see movement..but i think i saw a little, i couldnt really tell. i was moving soo much yesterday. do they sleep? maybe its sleeping. idk. im ganna check it again later

that looks good for day 15 at this point it will be hard to see movement bacause the chick is taking up almost all the egg in the secon pic the dark black is the chick towards the point end. the space that has loght is the air cell and a little more space the chick will fill up in the next 3 days and in a few days when the chick breaks the inner membrane and air cell there will be no light showing thru.

you are suppose to see in the big end light will shine thru that end due to the air cell the rest of the egg will be dark and hard to see movement if there is good dark red veins you are good to go at this stage i look at the veins for movement if teh veins are moving the chick is alive and doing good in one picture you had a good big vein look at it and see if it moves but if i can see the veins in the pic like that then you should be ok under the hatcheig thread click on the stickey post at top and then click on the egg candling progression photos and look at day 15 then compair yours to it

this link should bring you to it

Hi there, I have not posted before but I have an incubator going with an expected hatch day of the 7th. This is my very first attempt at this, and I only started with chickens at all last year. I am very excited to see how this turns out. My Easter Egg chickens Angel and Silvermist are the donor Moms, and Oddball, Fancy (Easter Egg Roos) and Peeps (Buff Silkie Roo) are the Fathers. I plan to Adopt my hatches to Ariel and Aubriella my forever broody Bantam Cochins. The other day a friend gave me this brilliant idea by giving me two orphaned day old chicks who's mama and family had been devoured by a homicidal wild cat, as I was setting up a brooder for those two lucky chicks, I thought of Fluffy our banty who has been sitting on ping pong balls since March waiting for her children to arrive.

I thought it would be so neat if she could raise these two and have a reward for being so patient. And she is now the delighted mother of two Lil Chicklets, Magdalena and Abigail.

So, then I decided to try and adopt the hatches from my incubator to my other two broodies, as I don't know if it would be pressing my luck to try and give Fluffy any more, I may try if I'm feeling Lucky when the time comes.

Anyways, I took my egg turner out last night, and candled for the third time, out of 18 chicken eggs on day one~ 14 candle alive last night and are locked in. I have had some issues with regulating my humidity, but all in all, I feel SO FAR, for my first try~ Things have gone fairly smoothly. I Hope, hope HOPE, and PRAY, PRAY PRAY, my Lil Chicklets make it through hatch day and get to be Born!
