i have pics of the red and white but not when there were young i got some 3 month old silkies 6 month old then a month ago i bought a pair that were a year old and shes the one sittin on new eggs

Hatch day was saturday and not an egg was moving. a chickie is now hatched, another one is ready to fall out of its shell, and 2 more have a nice sized hole and are cheeping like mad. So the 3 year old leaving the lid of for a few hours did not end my hatch after all. So relieved.

and a couple minutes later an egg that didn't even have a hole all of a sudden started rocking like mad. Didn't even take 2 minutes for that chick to hatch. Rooster maybe?

Hello, I'm trying to hatch for the first time. I'm new to hatching eggs but I've had a chicken & duck flock before. I tried using a infrared flood & got too hot. I've been unable to maintain 99.9 w incandescent s. It usually settles out I 94*F. I don't think any of the eggs are fertile. I'm using 3 bricks to protect against temp flux. I on my 11th day. I using an very old incubator that I slavaged out someone's trash. Uses light bulbs. Help please. I'm not sure what turning means. does it mean tilting, turning over, rotating, rolling?? I have my eggs in egg cartons & have been turning them 180* ( upside down). How too keep the large end always up??

this was my first attempt at hatching set 18 from the backyard flock had 7 hatch, i am all and all happy! more than likely go at it again this weekend after i get everything cleaned up.
