Am I too late for this thread? I started mine on the 18th..so, about a week later than you all?
I've been candling, so far so good with 18 out of 18! Hope it stays that way!

Thank you all I'm really hoping I see something at least

maybe I'm just doing it wrong. I have an a nice even temp of 99.5ish to 100.4 (is the to low to hot? I've heard 99 to 101 is ok) in a circulated air bator with a constant humidity of 45 to 47% with one minor spike up to 50%. Not sure why they would die (if they did) even checked my max/min log on my two digitals and both showed very normal range of temp and humidity.

On another note I'm starting up the other thread tomorrow for people with a 20th or so set date! So anyone with a second batch on the way feel free to share the fun!

snapped a couple pics of my BBS Amer eggs in the bator and then one next to my EE for comparison. Not sure how well the color will show up on screen but they are lovely.

I went ahead and candled a few eggs just so I can sleep, I saw wigglers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love.gif

And yes they do hide from the light if you dont accually pick up the egg. I had to pick up the egg and shine it from the top and side so see them. Also spotted a cracked egg, so had to remove that. No baby in it no blood ring, so must of been a clear...it was a maran so didn't catch it before it popped.

I have wigglers!!! I'll have to recandle later more thoroughly to get an idea of how many though. But the all three I candled had wigglers!

We would like to join. What started out as a science project for my 8yr and 6yr old last month has become a whole family affair. All of us are so excited waiting for our babys that are due on sat the 29th. We received eggs last month from the mail 2wks late so very disapointed that all where lost. But a very nice lady at our local feed store took pity on our boys and gave us 12 eggs to hatch.

What kind of eggs did you get? Good old barnmixes or fancy purebreds? How very exciting for your family to be able to share the whole hatching experience!
My husband is turning into a mother hen himself! Since we work different hours I have mornings watching the 'babies' and he has evenings. He texts me every 30 mins or so with 'eggs are good' etc, while I'm at work.

So your hatch is just around the corner!!! Have you candled yet? Oh I hope you have lots of little fuzzy butts on the way, can't wait to see their pictures
