Hatchalong! Setting Eggs April 6, 2012. Anyone else in?

Final count: 9 hatched, 1 pipped but quit, 5 started to form but quit. Not super great, but not bad either for getting 16 shipped eggs(1 broke before putting them in).

These BOs are growing fast! And they seem huge! It's my first time in 19 years. I'm happy. Next up will be guineas. Anyone want to recommend a place for guinea eggs?

Im also building a coop. Thread is on the coop building forum.

Congrats to everyone! Even if they didn't always go the way you want. I'm looking forward to the next hatching!

Hey, congrats steveclank. BOs are such cute fuzzy butts.
Are you sure you are ready for Guineas? my DH hates them, with all the noise they make, but we had almost no winter and the ticks will eat my show dogs alive if I don't control them somehow. Better guineas than chemicals. I'll pm you with a suggestion for finding them.

Yeah!!! I had one pip two hours ago. And just a few minutes ago a little dark chick popped the top off a green egg. Nothing else yet. S/he will be in there for a while. I hope s/he has a friend before this is all over.

Hey tgperg, Where are you, How's things going, anything yet? Haven't heard from you since last week or did I just miss your post?
I lost my password and couldn't get them to send me a new one! ARGH! Finally got it straightened out! Pics are coming! I just have to catch up on ten days of posts!

Guineas are loud, but they are so ugly they're cute. They're also good watch birds, and I love how they eat the ticks.

Definitely ready. I'm so prone to bugs eating me alive. I didn't get a chance to put up Martin boxes, and I need all the bug eaters I can get out here(KY). There's no ordinances out here regarding animals, so I'm good to go. It's nice living in the country.

Okay. Sorry I disappeared. I upgraded my operating system, forgot my password, and couldn't get the reset because gmail was dumping all the replies in the spam folder. Fixed that all now. I had a terrible hatch. Sorry to all the other people that had a terrible hatch. I have five chicks out of 21 eggs set. Two pullets, two cockerels, and one I'm not able to sex at this time. I have changed some stuff for my next hatch and have 40 eggs in the incubator already. Another hatch along, anyone? ;)

Anyway, pictures are uploaded here: http://imgur.com/a/CA8j2#7 and there's a long video of a chick hatching here:

I'd Love to do another hatch along, unfortunately I have no eggs or anyone that wants the results of the eggs at this time.

sigh.

I haven't ever hatched guineas. but I have seen them around here, to bad your to far away from me.

My last egg quit so I ended up with 24 out of 25 this has been my best hatch to date. I do have one little guy that only has three toes and has issues with that leg I am going to give him a week and see how he is doing but I will probably have to end up culling him so far he is eating and drinking time will tell. Here are a couple pics of the little buggers.
