Hey Guys,
I bought 5 BCM eggs at a poultry show, but don't know much about the breed, just that they have beautiful eggs. Anyway 2 have hatched so far, and one is a much more copper color, does this mean anything, like Male or female, or????

Thanks!

Oh and I would upload a pic, but hubby is hogging the main computer and my pictures take up too much space on this netbook.

Means nothing about gender.

If the chick actually looks redder as a chick, that means it has way too much copper or mossiness, and will grow up mostly red or orange in color. Though it isn't a preferable trait to the ideal Black Copper colored Marans, "mossiness" often results in darker eggs.

my two mossy girls, "Mossy 1" and "Mossy A", lay the darkest eggs.
