So I had three duck eggs in my incubator and I had set the temp and humidity at the appropriate readings and confirmed them as well. One egg which I didnt know had hairline cracks ended up dying within two weeks of development. The next two were fine and one of those two the embryo was moving like no other. Now today is the day I was supposed to lockdown the eggs according to all my readings (I have never hatched ducks only chickens). I open the incubator and I find a chick... it's the one that was very active inside the shell. Will it be okay since it hatched soo early? It's a cayuga and blue swiss mix so hatching should have been 28 days... it's barely been 25.

Mine did this too. I lost one within a couple days of hatching and the other just hatched this past weekend. Fingers crossed that they do alright.

I don’t know anything about ducks but I do know that the days to hatch are a basic average time frame, some take less time some take more. It should be fine.

Well it seems pretty healthy so far but it wont leave me alone it tips the side of its brooder box (I have it temporarily in a cardboard box since I didnt expect it to hatch so soon) and crawls into my lap. :idunno lol
