Hatched chick at 4:30am today

I got up @ 1am to check.. nothing.. than at 4:30am it was 3/4 of way out of shell.. pretty amazing…. Rooster was a white leghorn/ barred rock/ my hen is barred rock.. this one is salt and pepper. My other hens are buffs orpingtons and one rhode island red..so excited to see what they will look like!
 
Not being interested in eating is completely normal at this stage, you can encourage interest by tapping at the food with your finger- and encourage drinking by dipping the very tip of the beak in the water (obviously dont get water too near his nostrils).

But for now he should be fine. He'll start getting hungry in a day or so.
You may need to show him how to go under the heat plate, and ensure its the correct height for him. Otherwise he may chirp for warmth. He may also chirp for you! It's likely this little one will imprint on you and cry for you to be near. Once he's got some friends in with him he'll settle more.
For now a little mirror or Teddy will help with loneliness. Just ensure its secure and won't fall on him.
I rolled up a small hand towel, tied it with jute..sleeping up against it under brooder..seems to be comfy and toasty.. no more chirping..I check on it few times an hour
