One of my quails hatched with a piece of membrane or something hanging out of its navel or vent. I have it isolated in the incubator in a Tupperwear Container and paper towels. I have put neo-sporin on it and held the chick for half an hour holding pressure. I left it over night but it doesnt seem to have changed....it isnt bleeding...the piece of whatever it is just has blood on it I think. Just specks here and there. I have to work today so I wont be home. But I'm going to leave it like it is. Any other suggestions for how to solve this problem????

Thanks!

Leave it alone and don't do anything. It should heal in the next 24 hours. Show photos of this hatch!

Same concept as the imbilical cord for babies, like MP said it will fall off. Jenn

Would you say keeping it seperated from the others in the brooder till healed is a wise choice?
Thanks!
