Hatched Quail cannot stand

I had exactly the same problem. I made that splint and put it inside after wrapping the toes and then wrapping it all together with paper wrap ( she lost some feathers) so she would keep the legs in the right position. The splint helped her stand so she could eat and drink. the "sides" helped from falling on one side. I was feeding her with nutritional yeast in water and moving her around so the poop wouldn't stack. She moves relatively fine now but she is often bullied and her legs are not strong. I don't know if she is in pain when the weather changes and I wouldn't do it again. But she was so determined to live I couldn't let her starve. I think she is 9 months old now.

Thank you so much for your reply!! May I ask how long it took her to recover? Also do you know if she had neurological issue or just leg issue?

It has been nerve wracking serving our chick. But like I said, the poor thing eats so well and it is getting stronger enough to escape itself from the tape. We have to do a better taping job every day. For the first few days only liked to eat boiled egg yolk but now it started eating regular food so hopefully that is also a good sign.

Sorry for my late response. Different hour zone. I think it took 2 weeks in the splint and more with tape around the toes because they were really curly.

I cannot say. I had problems with very high outside temperature and I couldn't measure humidity. The power went out for 12 hours. I had 11 fertile eggs and only seven hutched. The others are fine. Your chick looks better than mine. I was turning the other eggs several times a day before the incubator but later I read it is a mistake to put very fresh eggs and this was really fresh.

I suppose they need more protein. Keep giving her eggs with her food and introduce her to at least one or two chicks from her flock gradually so they will know her and won't bully her after.
Again, I wouldn't do it again because there is a reason she couldn't get out. I hope your bird has also the "personality" to survive. Wish you the best. Feell free to ask any time, but I'm relatively new to this. The others know better
