I just hatched out my quail on Thursday and left them in the bator until all hatched. I had to remove mine because there was 20 running around and 9 that were still wet... so it was a little crowded... they didn't start eating until Saturday morning so that can give you some what of a time frame.
Here's another thing you can do, if you need to remove the older chicks from the bator make sure to squirt a little warm water on the eggs that are remaining. not too much but enough to keep the moisture around the eggs why the bator is open. helps alot.
