I knew I had some chicks coming last week, and my lady went broody at just the right time.
Actually 2 went broody, but the other broke a week before the babies got here.
I let her sit on a fake egg, and she dragged the other fake egg into her nest. I didn't notice for a while that she had a third egg (not one of hers) and it was well developed when I candled it.
I let her sit on that one as well, and removed it when she came off the nest with her new babies.
It went in my incubator, and it hatched last night!
Since I split the chicks and only gave her ten, this new baby will go in the brooder with the others.
