hatcher

Forgive me if I'm asking too many questions, if I bought one of these it would be my first 'bator - currently my broodies do all the hatching for me! - I don't understand the water pan and how to adjust the humidity? Is it difficult to learn?

Could I add a hygrometer to track the humidity level?

The water pan sits in front of the fan. Humidity levels can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the amount of exposed water surface . Or you could use a larger or smaller water container. I recommend using the supplied water pan and floating an appropriate sized piece of the sheet foam the unit comes packed in to reduce the water surface area. You could also use plastic wrap to cover part of the water pan. The humidity is easily adjusted. The adjustable air vents can be used to make minor changes. A hygrometer would be needed to monitor humidity. It can sit on the top shelf in front of the water pan which is visible thought the large window in door. One of the advantages of a cabinet incubator like this over the foam table top models is the temperature an humidity will recover quickly after opening. Usually with in a minute or two.

What do people typically use for a hatcher when doing staggered hatches in a cabinet? I have seen the cabinet hatchers, but they seem like more space than I need.
Thanks for making this thread. Very helpful, I hope to do the same.
