I am all set for this already but was wondering if we can pile a list of all the hatcheries in New England. Pretty cool to know about how many we have up here

thanks
Mike

hello there is a hatchery in Senaca Falls called AJ Farms/Domini Ranch. It's a little west of Syracuse. They advertise alot of different birds, i got Barred Hollands from them last year. dave

Are you looking for commercial hatcheries?
I only ask because there are a bunch of small, backyard hatcheries/breeders here in Maine for poultry and waterfowl.
But I don't think there are any commercial hatcheries here in New England

I came across a breeder in CT yesterday that breeds white, black, red, buff, partridge, & blue silkies. They are a small farm but their website looked nice. I am looking to add one to my new flock but cant decide on a color...

There's Hardy's Hatchery in Essex, Mass. It's a small commercial hatchery. They sell the common standard breeds of chicken -- RIRs, barred rocks, white leghorns, etc.
I recall they had an outbreak of Marek's about 10 years ago, but probably they have resolved that problem. If I bought chicks from them, I'd still make sure to have them vaccinated first. Other than that, they have a good reputation. There used to be lots of hatcheries and poultry farms in Mass. when I was growing up. Almost all gone now, though. Just a few abandoned old-fashioned hen houses dot the secondary highways that used to be farms but are now strip malls and developments.

Here's Hardy's on Yelp:

The reviews are only about the eggs (for eating), but they sell chicks and I think adult birds, and probably hatching eggs.
