Hatchery chicks vs. Home hatched chicks

i find it more difficult to raise hatchery chicks vs. home hatched chicks.
a lot of my hatchery chicks i buy die the first day i get them and their so little.. compared to chicks i hatch at home, none die.

i don't think im doing anything wrong. Does anyone else have this problem? Have any tips

Are the hatchery chicks being shipped directly to you, or are you picking them up from a retailer who has had then shipped? The major difference between home-hatched birds and hatchery birds is that with home hatch you aren't dealing with the issues involved with shipping stress.

They are being shipped from Texas to California.
this is my first year buying the chicks i bought from ideal poultry
i bought 70 and 11 died in the first 3 days they seem to be really small [at least they look small to me]
their about 2-3 weeks now but still small. id like to buy more i just dont want alot to die on me.
