Hatchery didn't send my birds

If that were the problem they should have told me by Wednesday like they said they would though. It wouldn't have been a surprise.

I'm only annoyed because I'm getting pushed behind people who paid after me
Some issues aren't obvious immediately. They might not have paid after you, just had a later shipping date than you. They are no less important.

I ordered my chicks from McMurray in January for May delivery. I don’t pay until they ship.

Are you sure you are getting bumped behind people who paid after you? If you’re dissatisfied with your customer service, you can always cancel your order and try to get them from another hatchery. Personally, as frustrating as it is, things don’t always go our way. In these times especially, we may need to be understanding and show some grace. A hatchery with a good reputation gets that reputation by earning it. Some things are just out of their control.

Part of the reason Im saying that is when I ordered my ducks they had 1000+ available the weeks after and several hundred the week before

Metzer charges you upfront. They had thousands of birds available the day I ordered for, and thousands the 3 weeks after, as well as I think 1000+ the week before.

The problem comes from no one producing a bird 3/4 as good as the Golden 300 in terms of egg size or quantity.

As multiple people have said, those are just estimations, they actually don't 100% how the hatch will be. Something must have happened to the hatch. Every hatchery is going through things right now with the bird flu, McMurray had to cull an entire barn and start from scratch. Have a bit of patience and understanding.

Murray McMurray just had an HPAI outbreak… maybe metzer had a scare? Anyone else supposed to receive this week?
Where did you get that information? We monitor USDA reports every day and I haven't seen anything about McMurray having an outbreak; also there's nothing on their website or in their voicemail, and there certainly would be if that were true, unless they've resolved it already...and that wouldn't seem possible either. I don't order from them, but I'm sure they'd appreciate it if they didn't lose customers because of potential false infomation.

It is on their website, but it is a bit hidden way down on the bottom of their page. They released a video about it.

Here is the link. https://blog.mcmurrayhatchery.com/2...atchery-high-pathogenic-avian-influenza-hpai/

USDA, sadly, is a bit slow to update their website - to our mutual disatisfaction. They seem to lag two to three business days, with no updates on weekends that I've seen - So Tuesday morning we may see what local papers reported Thursday eveing of the week prior.

I had a few breeds taken off my McM order because they were affected by AI outbreak. It definitely isn’t false information as they sent me an email to notify me my order would not include those breeds.

McMurray announced it a few weeks ago. Please inform yourself before calling out people in this manner. All hatcheries are vulnerable to HPAI. McMurray just happened to be the one that got it this year. They took the appropriate steps by calling in the authorities, culling affected birds, disinfecting all equipment, and salvaging breeds by pulling them out of hatching chicks. While they have not publicly announced the breeds affected, it looks like between 25 and 40 breeds won't be available until sometime next year... if then.
