Hatchery Freebies

I got some hatchery freebies but they don't identify them. I've been trying to figure them out but am stuck. I am pretty sure 1 is my white cochin and 3 is my welsummer. 4 was either a Black Copper Maran or a Partridge Cochin. I think 2 may be a rhode island red. No idea what 5 is.

5 is probably some type of hatchery hybrid. Maybe an Easter egger. Looks like it will be a pretty bird.

# 2 looks like it could a RIR, but it seems a bit darker than mine were.

I can’t see 1 enough or its legs. Let’s wait on 3. 5 looks to be an Opal Legbar, 2 a RIR, and 4 likely a Black Sexlink. What hatchery are they from?

My mom ordered them from Meyer's. 1 is supposed to be a white cochin and 3 is supposed to be a welsummer since she said that's what she ordered. 5 and 2 were free additions that the hatchery threw in. 4 was supposed to be either a Black Copper Maran or Partridge Cochin (she said that's what she ordered and the other black one arrived dead). When we reached out, they said they do not do the identification as that was part of the fun and gave a link to self identify which didn't help. I've been reading there have been a lot of mix ups with Meyer's lately though.

Also ordered from Meyer this year and everyone did great with the exception of one. 4 is not a partridge cochin, I had one and it was more brown than black with super fluffy legs. Sadly it was failure to thrive and died on my about a week later.

If you got the feebie meal maker and homestead helper (rooster chick) then those are likely 2 and 5. Last year and this year I got a freebie rooster from Meyer and both were RIR. Last year's RIR was an okay cockerel but this year's is kinda a jerk, even at 5 weeks old it was being a snot. Now he's 10 weeks and counting but he will end up going bye-bye in another month or so.

My freebie meal maker appears to be an EE pullet, this is her when I got her. She has muffs and a beard. She is now all black with very minimal leg feathers

I would guess your freebie meal maker is a colored egg layer of some mix of other. It almost looks like it may develop a crest when it feathers out too but that could just be the photo making it look that way.
