Just looking for recommendations on hatcheries. We will be ordering for next year 4-H & will be ordering about 50 total of different varieties, 5 of each breed. Any feedback would be much appreciated. We have used Murray in the past & are pleased with their birds & service, but they are not shipping any Bantams until after April 1st & we have to have the birds in our possession by April 1st. Thanks & God bless!!

If you're looking for bantams, Ideal has the best bantam selection of any hatchery I've seen. I've used them multiple times and have always been pleased. In fact, I just got an order in of pullets from them on Halloween and all arrived healthy and they are thriving. Ideal ships bantams year long - I ordered bantams from them in February last year. I've also had good luck with Meyer Hatchery, but their bantam selection is much smaller. My Pet Chicken just dropships from Meyer, so best to avoid them and go straight to Meyer and save a few dollars.

X2 on Ideal Poultry in Cameron Texas (http://www.idealpoultry.com/). They have a very large selection of bantams. I ordered chicks from Ideal on a number of occasions over the years, and have been happy with their birds and service. Good luck in getting your bantams.
