Ok I officially hate the crested gene. one perfectly good duckling died in its shell because it's brain was on the outside of its head. the one left in the bator has a fat head I wonder if it will be crested.

well I am happy with the three I have and one on the way, which I am hoping does ok

also one of my ducklings looks like it has a slight case of splay leg (I don't have them on smooth ground I think it might have been born that way) does anybody know what to do? I'm about to try the bandaid thing, the yarn wouldn't stay on.

I gave up because everything I tried she would kick it off or fall down and kick her legs out behind her, but it doesn't seem to be getting worse and it was never bad to begin with. The three in the video are the only ones left, I named the Gray one Dabble, the yellow one Cecelia, and the black and yellow one Squeaker.

I only have I egg on lock down right now I ordered 8 and only one made it it should hatch anytime can't wait I bought more from another person so it wouldn't be alone. It had a detached air sack its Sadeled air sack any tips on that I have had it in a tray upwards the whole time till now now I have it laying down.

Zip: when the chick pecks around the egg in a circle
Internal pip: when the chick breaks the air sack and takes the first breath
External pip (or just "pip"): when the chick breaks the fist hole in the shell
Air sack (or air cell): the bubble of air in the blunt end of the egg essential for the chicks first breath
