One of my hens(Mini) laid some eggs and she's a mix of a miniature rooster and a regular sized chicken(Mama) so she's a little smaller than her momma chicken. Well now she is trying to hatch these eggs which I can't wait to see what the new chicks will look like BUT I went into the coop yesterday and saw that the Mama was on Mini's eggs and Mini had to go sit on other eggs in another nest (I took her off those eggs and she was not happy about that at all). Now I know Mama likes to sit on her eggs because she would sit on eggs even when we didn't have a rooster. So should I let Mama hatch the eggs even though they aren't hers? Should I take her off? She got off once and Mini was back on but then I saw Mama on them again, so how do I prevent this? I'm new to this so I don't know if this is normal and I should just leave it alone so any advice would be appreciated.

You should separate the two hens, because Mama will keep bugging Mini until they break the eggs over who gets to sit on them, if she will go back, I would say let Mini sit on them, since she was the one who began the process.

Ok I will separate them. I know I cannot catch these chickens to put them on the eggs so how will they know where I put the eggs if I move them? Also I only have one chicken coop, where do you put your chicken when you separate it?
