Sounds like you were in the same boat as me. I only had one chick hatch out of 9 eggs and Im pretty sure it is a roo. But I will keep him all the same as long as he doesn't attack me or the hens.
Im guessing my temperature was too high and I read somewhere that while incubating male chicks inside the egg can withstand higher temperatures then females. And the one that survived was a roo, When I cracked open the other 3 eggs that made it to lockdown they were all fully formed, but dead. They were shipped eggs so that could have had some effect too. But I blame the thermometer that came with the LG incubator. It misread by 4 degrees. So I probably had my temperature around 103-104. The whole time and another reason that lead me to think that, was the chick that did survive hatched on day 19 and was rocking the day before lockdown. I'm surprised that he even hatched and lived. I had to help him out, humidity was too low. Hes supposed to be a pure-bred Ameraucana chick, but he had no muffs or a beard when he hatched. Hes just now starting to grow little feathers that stand out around his face so that makes me feel better. Hes a little over a month old and finally starting to get out his funky feather problem my mom still calls him a vulture though >.<
Anyway. I wish you luck with your hatch ^.^ I hope everything goes well. Mine are supposed to hatch this weekend but I accidentally counted the days wrong and lockdown was today not yesterday, and I put them on lockdown this morning before I went to school. SO they should all be hatched out by Monday.
I haven't heard anything yet, or see any rocking, but I haven't been constantly staring at the bator either. I will keep myself distracted this time o__O Im kinda glad I work on Saturday xD But Sunday I have all day and Friday is half day at school
Good luck to everyone else too This is going to be a fun weekend x3
