So glad you;ve got some babies. I'm very sorry to hear the other one (bruised one) was dead, though.

Thanks, I haven't been on here in a few days but a few hours after the two eggs hatched another one hatched by surprise. Our other two have cracks in them so we're hoping they will be hatched too either later on tonight or early tomorrow morning since the others were really fast

[/IMG] I think I may have a slight problem here... My two other ducklings like like they may be hatching prematurely. They are both chirping like crazy but they aren't hatching like the others did. They just pecked a big hole and the one looks a bit bloody from the membrane. Is this just me or do you think there ready to hatch but just too weak now? No progress in the past six hours.

the one hatched but he just looks so weak and fragile. I'm worried they being both ducklings may not make it. They are already a few days later than the rest. I feel so sorry for the little guy. I want to stay up to comfort him but it's already 11:40 and 5:30 comes pretty early. Is there anything I can do for him in the morning if he makes it because I've heard that an electrolyte mix should help. I would just fell really bad if these two don't make it. We started out by collecting 18 eggs. 13 of which we're fertilized. Only 3 have made it so far and I'm praying that these will too. It's just so sad to wait such a long period of time and then see the life you helped grow just suffer and die. It's just too sad. Anyway just wanted to update you all. Thanks for all of your support I've had many questions due to this being our first round of eggs we ever hatched. :)

I keep hand warmers about and wrap'm up some times the newbies need it extra warm, and I give babies a sip of yolk mix, my last one got a bit of egg nog.
