I'm not sure if eagles are considered "fowl", let alone ornamental ones, but I'm not sure where this should go. If anyone has a better idea of where this topic would fit, I have no problem if you red-flag this and ask a moderator to move this thread [IMG]

I just saw this on the news & thought I would share in case anyone is interested. They've placed a 24 hr live webcam on a bald eagle nest, the eagles had 2 eggs, one has already hatched, and the other should hatch before Friday (1/4/13), that's according to the news... but what do they know? [IMG]

Here is the link to the streaming video http://www.ustream.tv/SouthwestFloridaEagleCam
(its really relaxing if you're having a hectic day)

and here is the link to the news segment, http://www.winknews.com/Local-Florida/2013-01-02/World-watches-as-North-Fort-Myers-eagle-hatches

One of the anchors said that the male eagle showed up with a stick while the female was feeding the baby eagle, and she apparently gave him the stick eye, as if to say, really? another one? I guess chickens aren't the only ones that give that look [IMG]

**EDITED TO ADD: "Second egg hatched on January 3, 2013 at 9:49 pm", and they're camera is still streaming a live feed.

I hate hawks but they're cool when it comes to treating there chicks well same with eagles, compared to most chickens. They do a great job with there children and the males work there butt of to get food for the mother and her chicks! Roosters can care less and only care about mating/eating lol.

My rooster was very good with chicks and seemingly protective of them. But chicken's chicks are able to find food for themselves so I wouldn't expect the same care as the eagles provide for their young who need food brought to them and fed to them. :)

Here's a nifty utility that forces a window of your choosing to stay ON TOP. Very handy for watching eagle cam and multitasking!!! I just downloaded it myself and it works like a charm!

    here's the link i followed...
