To have a successful hatch I HIGHLY recommend getting the thermometer/hydrometer with a probe, a dimmer, and a styrofoam cooler that can fit this in.

cool!!! this mini incubator only holds up to 3 chicken eggs. It's smaller than it looks. You can use it if you want to hatch a small number.

Those little bumble bees are adorable!

I used to have around 30 adults (15+ pairs), but I sold all of them but my favorite trio. I have 20 little eggs collected...but I can't incubate them. Instead, I'm going to move them over to a huge dog cage with plenty of dark hiding spots and see if I can't get Angela or Fredia to be mommies!

They sure did. Here is a video of 7 of the little guys running around. Have some late bloomers still drying off in the incubator. I think I got 11 out of 18 hatched thus far.

the incubator I'm using is actually the cheapest and crappiest incubator on the market. (it's like $20) The reason I used it was because my GOOD incubator was broken and I was in a rush to get these eggs into something, so I found this incubator in the corner of my room. It's horrible at keeping temperature unless you do what I did which was get an easy dimmer and place the little incubator in a larger cooler. Like that it will be 100 times better than any Little Giant, and those cost $40 for a still air one.


This incubator is smaller than it looks and you should really only use it to hatch quail eggs, but 2 or 3 chicken eggs do fit inside. Hand turning is the only option. Get a digital thermometer with a probe and a hydrometer. That will be the best. All of the live eggs that I put into this incubator hatched, so you will have a good chance too /img/smilies/smile.png

What would you think about putting a digital thermostat or a water heater thermostat on one of these? Which would be better? Would this increase my hatch rate? I'm new here and have no experience what so ever! Sorry to comment on such an old post
