Hatching button quail - Homemade mini incubator

Don't think you will get anything out of that. A fan's design is produce air movement measued in CFM (cubic feet per minute). Even the tiniest fan you can find will be better than nothing, as all you are trying to do is move the air around inside the "box" so it will allow the temp to be even throughout......(remember, heat rises). The aquarium pump only disperses a "whisper" of air, meant to be distributed while submerged down in water .

I guess your right, I'll keep searching for a fan then.

Right, I've been looking at those but most are 3 by 3. Which is fine, but due to the small size of bator I don't want a strong fan that would blow up a hurricane in there. Are they really strong?

On another note, I cut the hole and taped the glass panel on the side and it makes a pretty good window. I also screened the little water bowl. Since I don't want to risk opening the bator when I have eggs in it to turn them, I want to make one of those "egg rack on a bar" sort of things. You know, where you can simply turn the handle on the outside of the bator to tilt the waterever is holding the eggs? Where the bar, or wooden dowel or whatever goes through the incubator and connects to the eggholder? Kind of like this I guess: o---[styro]-----{ eggs }-----[styro]---o <--- handle

And since most online quail racks are huge and are a little expensive for something not THAT important...can I just make something that would hold the eggs? Like, since I got plenty of styrofoam can I make a rectangle block of stryo with indents in it to hold the eggs? I've seen button eggs before, but I obviously don't have any right now. What would be the lenth and the width of an average button egg?

If the pc fan is too strong for the size of the cooler, install it backwards so that it sucks the air up and blows it against the lid to disperse the energy before it circulates through the cooler. I discovered this by accident when my fan in my bator came off the lid and I stuck it on the wrong way. It gives a more gentle airflow.

Edit: Another option would be a rheostat, ie a "dimmer", which would cost a few more bucks, but its another option.
