Crystal Chicken
Songster
This is my first time hatching buttons and I think it's going ok but wanted to check with the experts.
I did a dry hatch. 35%-40% humidity until I saw the first pips and increased it to, 60%-65% . Temp has been 99.5-100.5
Today is day 16
I noticed the first pip yesterday morning. And a few more pipped last night and today. The one that pipped over 24 hours ago had absolutely no progress and was becoming less active. I took it out just now to check on it, and thankfully it is still alive. I opened the air cell end of the egg and it looked good, still had some small veins so I moistened the membrane a little with my finger and put it back. I'm guessing it just pipped early and had more to absorb. (I did this in the bathroom with tons of steam.
The other ones are all moving and doing OK so far.
I am hoping I didn't mess stuff up by checking on that little one, but why did it have to scare me like that and pip so early!?
I will keep posting if anyone wants to hatch a long!
