Hatching chick with egg full of maggots 🤮

Ok the second chick has passed and I feel like it’s for the best sadly. I did find a maggot under its skin so I’m certain it was injured in the egg. After looking at it closely it’s legs didn’t look normal. They were straight and the toes just didn’t look right so I think it must’ve started to unzip while I was out of town and then got stuck and a fly laid eggs in where it was unzipping and the rest is a horror movie. THERE ARE STILL 4 PIPPED EGGS. I know I need to candle them to see if there is life but I’m so afraid now. This is this hens first hatch and definitely last. I can’t stomach this again.

This just happened to me... I tried to save one egg in the incubator, came home a few hours later to basically no more chick, and the mama is dead, I'm guessing she had problems in her vent because it's just not a pretty sight and she was surrounded by flies for a large portion of the last few weeks... I'm not sure I ever want to use a broody again... It never works out for me for one reason or another.
