we have a broody hen my we had to basically pry her off tocollect eggs yesterday and she was not very happy. and again today sje is laying on some eggs i want to just go ahead and let her hatch them but i dont know how many she is laying on should i mover her? should i mark the eggs shes laying on so i cancollect new eggs for the next few weeks? how does this all work?? lol

Here is a nice BYC article on broody hens https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/broody-hens
I like to see them sit on the nest for at least three days and nights before I consider them really broody. I will move them to check eggs etc, if they are so bothered by just being moved that they abandon the nest, I figure they were not a good enough broody to let set eggs. With where to have the nest, some people will leave them in the coop with the other hens, but I like to have them by themselves so the other hens don't bother her and don't lay more eggs in the nest and maybe crack eggs etc. If you leave her in the coop with the other hens, do mark the eggs you are letting her keep so you can remove the new ones.
