Hatching Chicks With A Heat Pad And A Egg Carton Experiment

Pics
I add my voice to those who are telling you not to blame yourself for the results of this experimental hatch. So many things can go wrong when incubating; as much as we want to say we're in total control of an incubation, that sadly isn't the case. Not even broody hens are successful at getting a 100% hatch rate in their eggs, so it's no surprise we humans also fail at it.

Look on the bright side of things: You might have lost your incubated eggs, but you gained valuable knowledge from this experiment. Wisdom is always important to have when you try something, and if you don't have it when you start, you gain it as you grow. There's only so much you can learn from school and books, so it's nice to explore unchecked possibilities and see what they offer :)

Thank you for trying this incubating method. You bravely took the plunge and did your best to obtain good results with what little you knew mixed with what you had on hand. Your chicks might not have hatched but they still made it all the way to day 10, so your incubating method is not a complete fail. That's a victory all on its own, don't you think? ^^
