Hi! Thanks for your comment! It will be interesting, this is my first hatch. We actually just got chickens a few months ago and one just happened to be a rooster. I wasn't sure if dry hatching or wet hatching was better, but ended up doing the wet incubator. But it doesn't tell me the humidity, so I'm hoping all goes well!Hiya, Cynthia, and welcome to BYC!
I have hatched several hundred eggs and can tell you that whoever said "Patience is a virtue," doesn't know anyone who incubates eggs!
It's tough but when they're making some progress, I always wait as some just have to stop and take naps along the way to rest more than others. I've seen some go from pip, to zip, to out in two minutes, and other ones two days.
You can buy an inexpensive hygrometer/thermometer on Amazon or just pick one up at a store. Almost everyone's incubator is inaccurate, so has one to double-check/verify anyway.Hi!
