Our hatch rate hasn't been very good so far. We are at about a 5% hatch rate

. Trying to improve on that though.

Kim27 how do u incubate eggs maybe I can give u some tips do u have a turner

Thanks for the offer. My wife does most of the incubating. I suspect that there are hot spots in our incubator. Our first hatch we had 1 chic. It could be related to shipping eggs. Our second hatch we got 7 out 41. We had a few mutations, so I suspect heating problems. We have an egg turner.

With all that said, I've been working on making a home made incubator to see if we can get a better hatch rate in a different environment, as I don't trust our current incubator.

What is y'all temp. I usually keep mine at 100-101.5 no higher and humidity at 45 and the last 3 days raise it to 60-65 and I have a home made incubator that my grandpa made I hatched out many chicks out of it I can show u pic and give u the dementions if u want

We are keeping the temp at 99.5, or round about there.

I would love to see pictures of what you are using, as I like to see what everyone else is using.

Here is the incubator we've been using.

And here is the first version of the one I've built. I've got a thread on called Temperature Logger and Buzzer. I should probably start a new thread for it though, since isn't just a temperature logger and buzzer anymore.

For my Little Giant I use a sponge like this and soak it a little every day and on your incubator raise the temp to 101 bcs the cold spots egg won't hatch under 99 do raise it to that and for hot spots its perfect

11"L. 10"W. 61/2" H
I make my out of wood bcs in styer foam heat isn't constant and in wood it is

25 watt and I took the cap of a coloring box and hot glued wire on top so I put water in it
