Hatching Day disasters

I have my incubated set up on a self where I thought it would be safe from my dogs and it had been so far. Today we started to hear chirps coming from the incubator and one of the dogs jumped up to investigate and pushe the incubator back really hard. This somehow caused one of the larger eggs to smash into the side of the smallest egg and busted the side of the shell of the small one.

I have placed it on a damp sponge to keep the exposed membrane moist. Will it still be ok because I am really nervous and worried.

Today is day 22 and all the other eggs are fine they are all showing pips and look great but the broken one is what upsets me the most

it should hatch fine just keep the membrane moist

I can only hope. This is the one egg that worried me the most from the beginning because it was 1/3 the size of the rest. It is still showing movement and and has started to chirp.

It has now made a good pip on the shell above the the broken part and is making good progress

I am sorry to say that the chick in the broken shell did not make it the air space in egg was to small and had filled with fluids. But I know have two beautiful chicks that have hatched successfully
