Hatching duck eggs - first timer!

How long do you wait to put food and water in with them in the brooder?

Hope someone can tell me what to do. I had 2 pep ext like the size of a quarter. 36 hrs still noting I help a little it seems wrapped ,but it still is not drying off after 5 hrs Can I do antthing for them????

I’m confused..
You have two that have pipped?
This is my first time hatching so I’m definitely not an expert - but everything I’ve read said that it can take up to 48 hours for them to hatch even after they’ve pipped....
But I’m confused as to what’s not drying off?

Hi all-
Just an update.
Still only have two ducklings so far.
There are two eggs left in the incubator- the one who had pipped yesterday is still rockin’ and rollin’.... I’m hoping he or she makes its it out soon without help- although I’m getting concerned... but trying to be patient.
The other egg I think died after internal pipping... there’s no movement or chirping ... I candled it (since this is technically day 29).. and no movement. The air sack is also not the usual shape.
I’ll guess I will just leave it in until the other one hatches.
We started with 10 eggs total- and I’ve been told that first time hatch rates are usually around 30%... so if I get three ducklings - I guess I’m right on track!
