Hatching Duck eggs....I messed up...UPDATE.....#1

.... I'd probably end up with ducks. I don't think I'd be able to sell them!
Oh wow Trouncer and Pooper are really cute; I love their coloring!
And congrats on making the coop!

It's cold here now and I can't get a good picture of them with the heat lamp in in the brooder....Tomorrow I promise......

I broke the deal off with that Man.....The butchering the Drakes ended me....

The lady who is taking Trouncer and Pooper is going to buy Nat and Katie too.....Pet home.....

I can understand killing something for meat, but I'd be a bit put off if you killed me because I don't lay eggs...
I see the motive behind the decision, I just think that if you don't want drakes, A) Order sexed duckling from a hatchery, or B) Try to sell off the drakes you don't want.
In any case, I'm glad they're going to good homes!

The Man is a Bird farmer and raiser......He only needs so many Drakes......Lots of people around here raise Ducks for meat....Yikes.....I love them as Pets.....My feathered Puppies.....My White Call today was playing in the puddles and mud...She was black.....So cute!....

I try to be open-minded, like maybe there are struggles we don't realise, or more convenience. But I'd never do it; I don't think I can kill anything bigger than a spider (I'm the crazy person who rescues moths...).
I'm just very glad Trouncer and Pooper will not be going with that man....

Believe me.....I am very happy too.....This lady is so excited....Her coop is huge and everything is beautiful......My Ducklings will be safe....Of course I told her to bring them back if she wants too?....I dont think she will....

Crazy Alice and her Chicks survived the night out in the Coop.....Stupid Coop has no pop door to go down the ramp ...I made one out of the heavy cardboard and used a brick to hold it in place...Alice was being a dumb, dumb so I had to catch everyone and put them in the little Coop.........Oh well......I love all my silly Birds...

Hi I know I already posted this on the Duck Thread bit it can't hurt, right? Does anyone know if you can change an order for Metzer Farms after you've placed and paid for it? We just found out that they've changed their hatching dates again, and ducklings are now available sooner than Spring Break! Any feedback would be helpful!

Call them...Most hatcheries will if the orders can be filled...
