Hatching duck eggs in cartons?

I have never hatched in cartons, and this will only be my second duck hatch. They go into lockdown tonight, so any help before then is appreciated!

Do I trim the cartons down? I wouldn't want to put the eggs side by side, I'd have to do every other because they're large eggs, right? Any experience with this? Better hatch rates, ect??

I have only done it once. I trimmed the cartons down. I had some detached air cells from shipping and it worked great. All of mine
hatched successfully.

I always hatch in egg cartons, with good success.

I trim them down a bit, poke some holes in the bottom with a pencil for air flow to the bottom of the egg, and I put them all right next to each other. It's a little crowded, but as they hatch they flop out of the carton and dry out on the floor.

I did it on my last hatch with pekins. 5/5 hatched out. I trim the sides down and poke holes in the bottom. I only use the paper cartons.

I've hatched most of mine in egg cartons...didn't cut them down or poke holes in them...put the eggs in side by side, point down, and they did fine. We named the 1st two who hatched Spitz and Laila.....they were so fast (like Mark Spitz) and so strong like (Laila Ali.) Hatching was much faster than we expected....
