Hatching duckling

First time hatching duckling is this normal. His breathing but what's all the stuff in the bottom.

Did you assist the hatch? Doesn't look like the yolk sac is absorbed.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your duckling, It looks like it has an unabsorbed yolk sack or yolk sack infection, there are some suggestions for dealing with that in the Learning Center Hatching 101 article about 3/4 way down the page. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101 Usually putting them very carefully in a small jar to finish absorbing the yolk (do not remove the shell etc) is suggested. you might try posting on the Hatching Eggs forum and the Ducks forum for help www.backyardchickens.com/f/5/incubating-amp-hatching-eggs and www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks
