Hi guys!

I am new to this. But I will be hatching ducklings in the spring time. My question is, where can you get pekin duck eggs in michigan?? What kind of coop? I was thinking a chicken coop with wire fencing?

Congrats on your (soon to be) new duckies!! You will love them! I would suggest doing a search on BYC for "duck pens", to get lots of great ideas on what yours could/should look like. I would also visit the "predators and pests" threads to get an idea of what coons, fox, dogs and other predators can do. Your coop is only as good as what it can keep out!

As for where to buy Pekins, do you have a Tractor Supply or feed store near you? They will usually get shipments in the spring. Also there are a number of hatcheries that you could purchase from, depending on how many you want..
Do a google search on "chicken hatcheries" and a number of them will come up that also sell ducks.

What state are you located in?
