hatching egg..already in fridge

No worries, it's just a handle. Don't spell my real name wrong tho :p

I wouldn't add any more new eggs into the mix after these ones, they might not all hatch at the same time and your broody might quit on them when they're almost ready.

Did she ever actually start to go broody?

Or did she simply start laying?
please dont think me crazy..but by broody you mean sitting on the eggs right?..well..to be fair Ive really just been trying to familarize them to me cause they werent handled or are used to people..these are the only 4 eggs they have laid for me..my neigbour who gave them to me had eggs regularly but moving them and stress would stop egg production from what Ive read..there are only the 2 showgirls..Tweedles as I call them..I did let them out last week and did see the rooster mate with one..sorry at the risk of sounding predidice..i
I cant tell them apart yet..so..now Im not moving any eggs they lay..JUST IN CASE..so in answer to your question..no I have NOT seen either of the Tweedles sitting on the eggs

Wellllllll...in my opinion.... Definitely don't waste any more good eating eggs. If you wanna encourage broodiness, mark em and leave em for a bit...collect the rest.

I didn't have this community as a reference at the time when *all* of my hens went broody at the same time, so I am by no means a broody hen expert. All's I learned at the time was... hens stop laying when they're broody, 3 will sit in 1 1x1 box no problem, and if you move 18 eggs to an unfamiliar spot and *try* to make a hen sit, it probably ain't gonna happen.

Not all chickens will go broody.

If you leave eggs in a nest, it might convince a hen to go broody.

When a hen is broody she will sit on the eggs non-stop except for 1 or 2 very short breaks each day to poop, eat and drink.
