So my broody hen has been sitting for 3 weeks on 9 eggs;6 are fertile. They were all laid at different times. I have no idea when their hatch date is, but I have been seeing them move. What should I do ?

Good advice. If the eggs are at different stages of incubation, you may want to keep an eye on things and take the earlier hatchers and let her sit on the rest until they hatch. Otherwise, in a couple of days she will take the ones that have hatched and abandon the rest of them, thinking that they will not hatch. In the future, when you have a broody you might want to consider collecting however many eggs you want her to sit on, mark them and then give them to her all at once. You mark them so that if she's in with the rest of the flock, you can check and remove extra eggs daily.just leave it alone the hen will do what she has to do just give her some privacy![]()
