I was so excited when I was finally able to order 2 dozen Buckeye hatching eggs! They were due to ship last Monday, but it was to cold, so he said, he would send them out this Monday (like today). I went to the PO today (luckily), and there they were!! Shattered! ooozzzing all over. We live in a very rural area and people get lots of eggs in the mail all the time, my Post Master hadnt seen any thing like it. The box looked like someone poured a lemon smoothie in it and it was seeping out of the corners, the thing is, the box was not really damaged. Just the eggs. The were still in the carton. just shattered. Luckily he shipped 36 eggs. I salvaged 19 of them after I washed the crud off

And put them in the bator with a clutch from my own buckeyes. Hopefully some will hatch, but more than likely they are all scrambled! I am heart broken. I have waited for these eggs from this breeder for over a year. I think I will get sick now!

I'm so sorry! I hope you get SOMETHING for your troubles! I have some BCM's in the incubator right now! So far ... out of 18 eggs, there is only 10 in the incubator ... with a few of my own ... out of those 10 I think only 5 have chicks in them! BUT ... all from my hens are doing great! I'm so sorry, and if you need someone to hold your hair back when you get sick ... I'm there for you!

Mine came ... each egg warped in toilet paper! In an egg carton ... then put in peanuts in a box ... then that box was put in another box with waded news paper ! only one came cracked ... and I didn't know that until day 7

Maybe bubble wrap could have prevented this? Who Knows? Its so risky any way! I did email there farm and told him, Im not sure what to do from here besides wait. Maybe in 21 days I can he will save me another box wrapped in bubble wrap, and hand delivered..
