Hatching egg question

I think it is important to remember that we are talking about improved hatching, not a complete right or wrong, will or will not hatch. I expect you to get some, and quite possibly a lot, to hatch even if you don't follow all the "professional" advise. It's all about improving your odds. A lot of the advice is written for someone hatching 10,000 eggs a day where a small percentage change in hatch rate can be significant to profit. With most of us, while we want all eggs to hatch, one or two in an incubator is not going to send us out of business. I still want as many to hatch as possible.

I've seen reports from many breeders that they wait 3 weeks to be sure the new rooster is the father, but I have seen one report on here that someone hatched an egg 3-1/2 weeks after the rooster was gone. If it happens once, it can happen again. I'd say 30 days is extremely safe. 3 weeks is pretty safe but no 100% guarantee.

To anwser the other question on roo influence. You want to have you hen with your roo for no less than a month, then that roo should be the one influencing your hen.
So...........30 days min.
Mike

Thanks Mike..
